Kim Koury is President of Spin Public Relations.
With a career that started in Las Vegas nearly 20 years ago, Kim Koury has built her boutique Santa Monica-based firm into a full-service company encompassing public relations, experiential marketing, branding, and promotions, as well as a full-scale event production company. Her varied experience ranges from working with music legends such as James Brown to some of the food industry’s Top Chefs. Some of Spin’s most notable clients include the Santa Monica Pier, Viceroy Hotel, Hotel Erwin, Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, Downtown Santa Monica, Capitol One Café, T-Mobile, Orangetheory Fitness, Del Frisco’s Grille, Michael’s Restaurant, Planet Smoothie, Joe’s Pizza of Bleecker St., and non-profits such as Heal the Bay, Project Angel Food, Surfrider Foundation, and the Westside Food Bank. In addition to PR and marketing, Kim and her team have produced hundreds of consumer-facing events and festivals including the annual Santa Monica Pride on the Promenade Festival, OFF THE HOOK Santa Monica Seafood Festival, Pedal on the Pier, MAINopoly: A Taste of Main Street, Venice Beach’s Stouts n Staches Brew Fest, and the SANTA Monica Pub Crawl which brings together 40 restaurants and bars and 6,000 people, raising enough money for the Westside Food Bank to provide a half a million meals to the underserved each year. Kim has also worked on experiential marketing campaigns for national and global brands including Anheuser Busch, Peroni, MedMen, Vital Proteins, GrubHub, Marker’s Mark, Moet & Chandon, Vita Coco, K-Swiss, and Boxed Water.
As a Santa Monica resident for 18 years, Kim loves giving back to her community. Her passion lies in creating events that support local businesses and build awareness for brands, while bringing together the community through fun, experiential events. Kim currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce and produces their virtual mixers.
Rebecca Turk joins Spin PR Group as Director of Brand Marketing.
Rebecca has over 25 years of experience in leading marketing teams, global brand development, media & celebrity relations, strategic planning and advising entrepreneurs and executives. She has worked with numerous entrepreneurs, executives and entertainers in support of their businesses and non-profit foundations. Her specialities include brand assessments, strategic visioning, executive consulting services, brand building, celebrity relations and publicity.
Rebecca has served in the following roles; Director of Global Marketing and Public Relations for Scuf Gaming, global leader and innovator of esports gaming peripherals; Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships for Usher’s New Look Foundation, founded by international entertainer and philanthropist, Usher Raymond; Senior International Marketing Manager and Public Relations Manager for international shapeware brand, Spanx, and in support of The Sara Blakely Foundation; Publicist for platinum-selling rock band, Collective Soul; and strategic marketing and communications services for Athletes Helping Youth, Sunshine State Goods, Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music, HBO documentary Sand and Sorrow, narrated by George Clooney, The Way We Get By documentary premiere for HandsOn Network, In Effect Films, Emeka Okafor’s One Million African Lives Initiative, LA STARS, Moet Hennessey, The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and numerous others.
Rebecca is an honors graduate in the field of Communications from Brenau University where she was a member of the prestigious HGH Senior Honor Society.
With close to two decades of PR and marketing experience, seasoned publicist Carl Larsen has crafted effective PR campaigns for some of the Los Angeles’ most prestigious hospitality brands and thriving brick and mortar businesses, as well as premium beverage companies, award-winning restaurants, entertainment studios and television networks, established architecture and design, festivals, and magazine cover-worthy interior designers. Having worked for successful bi-coastal agencies most of his career, Larsen is currently a PR consultant for various hospitality and restaurant groups in Los Angeles while offering clients “big agency” expertise combined with the accessibility and hands-on approach of working with a PR specialist with senior marketing experience.
Carl has demonstrated experience and versatility in the areas of corporate branding and creative business strategies for a variety of industries over the years. He excels in the critical area of media relations and has managed a full spectrum of top-tier clients, including The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, TLC Network, Paramount Home Entertainment, Kraiko Diamonds, Jamba Juice, Levi Strauss & Co., Shutters on the Beach, Hotel Casa Del Mar, restaurants at the W Hotel Westwood, Hennessy, Leblon Cachaça, and Segway, among others. Larsen also co-led the award-winning PR campaign for the 25th anniversary of the Outfest Film Festival, which received the 2008 PRism Award, was Gold Sabre Award finalist, and a PR NEWS Non-Profit PR Awards Honorable Mention.
