05 Oct Carrera De Los Muertos 5k
Ah October… the month that brings us shorter days, crunchy leaves, Mariah Carey on repeat (already?!) and all the Halloween invites your inbox can handle. The month is cozy… yet cliche so we recommend signing up for the Carrera de los Muertos 5k! Carrera de los Muertos is a vibrant 5k run that honors Day of the Dead. The course starts on history Olivera Street, runs through lower Chinatown and then onto Alameda Street towards Los Angeles State Historic Park. Traditions include face painting to resemble skulls, decorating altars with bright orange marigold flowers, candles, photos and other memorabilia. There will be an official Runners Altar for participants to decorate and a post race, finish line festival with art, music, community and fun for all!
